Apple Crumble

Photo to follow.

For the crumble

175g flour

115g sugar

115g butter (room temperature)

½ tsp all spice

½ tsp cinnamon

For the filling

4-5 apples

1tsp cinnamon

In a large bowl put the butter diced into medium sized pieces.

Sieve the flour into the bowl and rub together with your fingertips until crumbly.

Add the sugar and spices and mix.

Peel, core and chop the apples then dice into small pieces.

Simmer in a saucepan with about half a cup of water and the cinnamon.

Drain excess juices and place in an oven dish.

Cover with the crumble mixture.  You can sprinkle a little white or brown sugar as this helps with browning the top.

Bake in the oven at 180c for approximately 25-30 minutes or until golden.

Serve hot with custard or fresh cream.
